This client retained Roe Ecological Services (“ROE”) to conduct a habitat assessment and delineation for the Preble’s Meadow Jumping Mouse (Zapus hudsonius preblei) (“PMJM”) on a property located in Monument, Colorado. The client was in the property purchase and planning stages for development of the property. Thus, the purpose of this delineation was to determine the boundary(s) of potential PMJM habitat on the property to allow the client to either develop a site design that will avoid impacts to such habitat, and/or to work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (“USFWS”) to either develop adequate mitigation options, or obtain a federal Section 10 incidental take permit.
